Scholarly Article Identity:
The following system of "Scholarly Article Identity (SAI)" is proposed and adopted by Scholarly Citation Index Analytics (SCIA). SAI will be utilized for all articles published by any publishers, organizers and authors, in which these components may be encouraged to use by other publishers or any other third party providers.
The document contains the detailed explanation in three sections:
This is an independent format based on the semantic contents retrieved from the publisher ID as auto assigned during their registration. The number does not depend on the page number of the article or the [ISSN] of the publisher or [DOI] of the article. It is purely based on the components that are automatically generated by SCIA programmatically based on the preference of registration. Every document has a unique identifier.
Construction Mechanism for SAI:
The entire mechanism for SAI generation and allocation is based on the just three fields.
- Field 1 - Year of publication.
- Field 2 - Publisher ID.
- Field 3 - Page id of the article in SCIA.
SAI example:
2016.SCIA|BA9D.0726
- 2016 - Year of publication.
- SCIA|BA9D - Publisher ID.
- 0726 - Page id of the article in SCIA.
The Publisher Id : 2016.SCIA|6547.0726 indicates three sub fields as
SAI does not have any meaning except that it denotes an identifier.it just a unique number for a document. It could used as a communication among SCIA, Publisher and the users (citing) of the particular article. It does not create any conflict with the existing standards for unique identification. To say in general it is compatible with the existing standards.
